What are the Check-in and Check-out times?

Can I request an early check-in or late check-out?
As a small, working farm on a rural property, our strict cleaning schedule must be adhered to, making it very difficult to accommodate requests for check-in earlier than 2:00 PM.

How many guests are allowed in the cottage?
The cottage accommodates a maximum number of guests as outlined at the time of booking. Only the guests included in the booking may stay overnight

Can I have visitors during my stay?
No visitors are allowed without prior written approval from the host.

Is smoking or vaping allowed?
Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside the cottage or on the verandah.
A designated outdoor area is available for smoking. A cleaning fee may apply for any smoke-related damage or odour.

Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not permitted at Markdale Farmstay. An exception may be made for certified assistance animals with prior notice and documentation.

Do I need to clean the cottage before checking out?
Yes, please leave the cottage in a tidy condition. This includes washing dishes, placing rubbish in bins, and removing all personal items.
All property, crockery, and cutlery must be returned to their respective cottages upon departure.

What should I do if something breaks?
Please report any breakages or maintenance issues promptly.
Guests are responsible for any damage beyond normal wear and tear.

How should I handle waste and water?
Markdale uses tank water, so please use water responsibly.
Recycling bins are provided; please separate waste appropriately.

Where can I go on the farm property?
Guests must stay within marked guest areas and follow all safety signage.
Do not enter fenced paddocks or livestock areas.

What are the rules for children's safety?
Children must be supervised at all times, especially near animals, the swimming pool, and the creek/dam.

Is firewood provided for the fireplace?
Yes, firewood is provided for the indoor fireplace.
Please follow fire safety guidelines and never leave fires unattended.
You must strictly observe total fire bans, which may apply at various times during the year

What should I do in case of an accident?
All injuries, accidents, or hazards must be reported to the hosts immediately.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Cancellations and refunds are subject to the booking platform or direct agreement terms.

Can I be charged a bond?
A bond may be charged in the event of damage, loss, or policy breaches. With the card details provided at time of booking.
