  • Our stay at Markdale was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much again for having us. As busy, city dwellers, what we enjoyed most were the exceptional vistas from every which way, the cool, fresh country air, the serenity and the stars. The photos simply don’t do it justice. The moment we walked in, it was amazing. The house was warm and the log fire – wonderful. The toiletries and towels were great, and the beds comfy. The cottage was clean and well supplied.

  • It was perfect in every respect, and for each of us. The old cottage was very comfortable – we specially appreciated the thoughtful, handpicked flowers. The younger ones were pleased (and surprised) that there was Wifi. It was all charming. We were thrilled to see the Edna Walling garden. This was the highlight of the visit, and something I was very happy to experience with my mother. We greatly enjoyed our short stay, and hope to visit again.

  • Many thanks for our lovely stay. The gardens are a joy and the cottage comfortable. The peace is wonderful. So nice to hear no traffic, just birdlife. Incredibly generous dinner and breakfast! Just an overall fabulous experience. Once again a big thank you.
